ISCC PRISONERS ALLOWED TO VIEW 2023 SOLAR ECLIPSE

On Saturday October 14, 2023 most ISCC prisoners were granted the opportunity to go outside and view the solar eclipse that was visible from the Boise area from about 10:15 am to about 11:00 am. Although there were hundreds of prisoners outside from the various housing units, (sectioned off by fencing), there were no significant incidents reported according to facility staff. Each prisoner who chose to go outside to view the eclipse, which is not expected to be visible in this area again until 2039, were provided protective "glasses" with which to see the moon blotting out a portion of the sun. While the temperature was a bit chilly, it was not unbearable, and despite intermittent cloud cover in the area, the spectacle was visible for more than half the time prisoners were allowed to remain outside. Other than a few hiccups, like an officer announcing to F block prisoners that the "eclipse was being delayed" (rather than saying the opportunity to go outside was bein

WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM?

Because of two separate fights in as many days, prisoners housed on F3 have been locked down for 6 days, with no idea when the lockdown will end. (AUTHOR'S NOTE: Lockdown ended at approximately 12:45 pm on 10/10/23.) In one of the incidents, an innocent bystander [me] was injured and subjected to OC spray which nearly caused a seizure. Despite the persons involved in the altercations being removed from the unit immediately, 80+ other prisoners - none of whom were involved - remain on lock down status. So what is causing all the fights and other problems at the ISCC? Primarily it's frustration that has permeated the entire facility, though seasonal depression and anxiety are also playing a part. Other factors, like knowingly housing declared/documented enemies in the same tier also forms the basis for problems. The sources of frustration are apparent, and numerous, yet administrators refuse to address them. In case there is confusion as to what they are, here is a short list of

ISCC 'SHOWER TRAILERS' FINALLY REMOVED, ALONG WITH $184,708.62 OF TAXPAYER MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN

In March, 2023 I posted an article on this site titled IDAHO TAXPAYERS PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR SHOWER TRAILERS WHICH HAVE NEVER BEEN USED . In that post, I stated "By my calculations, if we round down the contract term to only 3 months, that equates to a bit more than $65,000. In actuality, it's more than $80,000." I based my estimations of both the rental duration and pricing on the contract between the Nevada company that owns the trailers and the IDOC. According to official state accounting records produced on 9/21/23*, these 2 shower trailers were on-site at the ISCC from December 30, 2022 through September 7, 2023 - and never used. Despite not having been used, the taxpayers of the State of Idaho (you and me) paid a whopping $184,708.62 to simply store the trailers in a secure facility for United Site Services of Nevada. Someone needs to be held accountable for what appears to be a clear case of embezzlement - and an investigation opened into which employees
